Job summary

ABB in the Philippines is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering professional to lead E‑House electrical design and material sizing. You will prepare drawings in AutoCAD, perform cable sizing, and coordinate with teams to meet customer requirements and standards.

The role involves detailed electrical studies (load flow, short‑circuit, arc flash) using ETAP, and ensuring timely, compliant deliverables for hybrid project environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years’ experience in a similar role.
• Experience with switchgear, protection relays, and transformers.
• Knowledge of IEC/NEC codes; ETAP/EPLAN advantageous.
• Experience in data center, railway, and onshore/offshore projects.
• Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects while managing customer expectations.
• Fluent in English and Filipino.

• Coordinating and performing all activities within the engineering discipline stream for the project.
• Carrying out detailed design, sizing, and calculations for cables, cable trays, conduits, lighting, UPS, and batteries, and verifying the design completed by other team members.
• Ensuring all documents and drawings are issued on time and meet quality standards.
• Preparing electrical drawings (layouts, single-line diagrams, equipment arrangement, wiring/schematic diagrams, and interconnections) in AutoCAD, as well as Bills of Materials.
• Designing electrical building services for substations, including lighting, fire alarm systems, and grounding.
• Conducting electrical studies for load flow, short-circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies using ETAP software.

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to oversee and perform activities associated with E‑House projects, including electrical equipment selection, calculations, specification and design; E‑House electrical design and drawing preparation; cable sizing and scheduling; supply chain management; and vendor support. Your goal will be to ensure that the E‑House design complies with customer requirements as well as all relevant national and international rules and regulations.

This role contributes to the Electrification Distribution Solutions Division of ABB.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Coordinating and performing all activities within the engineering discipline stream for the project.

• Carrying out detailed design, sizing, and calculations for cables, cable trays, conduits, lighting, UPS, and batteries, and verifying the design completed by other team members.

• Ensuring all documents and drawings are issued on time and meet quality standards.

• Preparing electrical drawings (e.g., layouts, single-line diagrams, equipment arrangement, wiring/schematic diagrams, and interconnections) in AutoCAD, as well as Bills of Materials (BoMs).

Qualifications for the role

• You hold a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.

• Experience with switchgear, protection relays, and transformers.

• Ability to demonstrate knowledge and experience in power system engineering.

• Familiarity with local and international codes (e.g., IEC, NEC), and experience with EPLAN is an advantage.

• Experience in data center, railway, and onshore/offshore projects is an advantage.

• Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously while managing customer expectations.

• Comfortable communicating in English and Filipino.
