Job summary

ABB is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead E-House design activities, perform cable sizing, and prepare complex electrical drawings. You will ensure compliance with international/National codes while coordinating with vendors and project teams.

The role requires 5+ years in a related field, proficiency with AutoCAD and ETAP, and experience with data center or rail/offshore projects. Hybrid work model and international standards guidance provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role.
• Experience with switchgear, protection relays and transformers.
• Familiarity with IEC/NEC codes; EPLAN is an advantage.
• Experience in data center, railway, and onshore/offshore projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform activities within the engineering discipline stream for the project.
• Carry out detailed design, sizing, and calculations for cables, cable trays, conduits, lighting, UPS, and batteries; verify designs.
• Prepare electrical drawings in AutoCAD and create Bills of Materials (BoMs).
• Design electrical building services for substations, including lighting, fire alarm systems, and grounding.
• Conduct electrical studies using ETAP and ensure timely, quality documentation.

Your goal will be to ensure that the E‑House design complies with customer requirements as well as all relevant national and international rules and regulations.The work model for this role is: Hybrid #LI-HybridThis role contributes to the Electrification Distribution Solutions Division of ABB.You will be mainly accountable for:Coordinating and performing all activities within the engineering discipline stream for the project.Carrying out detailed design, sizing, and calculations for cables, cable trays, conduits, lighting, UPS, and batteries, and verifying the design completed by other team members.Ensuring all documents and drawings are issued on time and meet quality standards.Preparing electrical drawings (e.g., layouts, single-line diagrams, equipment arrangement, wiring/schematic diagrams, and interconnections) in AutoCAD, as well as Bills of Materials (BoMs).Designing electrical building services for substations, including lighting, fire alarm systems, and grounding.Conducting electrical studies for projects such as load flow, short-circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies using ETAP software.Qualifications for the roleYou hold a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.Experience with switchgear, protection relays, and transformers.Ability to demonstrate knowledge and experience in power system engineering.Familiarity with local and international codes (e.g., IEC, NEC), and experience with EPLAN is an advantage.Experience in data center, railway, and onshore/offshore projects is an advantage.Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously while managing customer expectations.Comfortable communicating in English and Filipino.What’s in it for you?We empower you to take initiative, challenge ideas, and lead with confidence.
