Job summary

Aboitiz Foods is seeking a Safety Specialist to implement and continuously improve the company's occupational Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) programs within its feed milling operations.

The role conducts regular inspections, hazard identifications, risk assessments, and audits across mill processes, recommends controls, and ensures compliance with DOLE, BFP, and other regulatory standards to prevent incidents and safeguard workers and facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
• 40-hour (BOSH) OSH training.
• DOLE-accredited Safety Officer (SO3).
• BOSH and COSH training advantageous.
• Knowledge of ISO Management Systems, GMP, 5S.
• Strong auditing and investigative skills.
• Good communication in English and local language.
• Leadership and planning abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Safety, Health, and Environmental policies for feed mill operations.
• Conduct routine safety inspections, hazard identifications, risk assessments, and compliance audits.
• Identify hazards in machinery, electrical systems, dust, noise, chemicals, confined spaces, and high-risk activities.
• Recommend and monitor hierarchy of controls (engineering, admin, PPE).
• Ensure machine guarding, lockout/tagout, emergency equipment, and PPE are properly implemented.
• Review design changes for safety risks and conduct risk assessments.
• Develop safety orientation, toolbox talks, trainings, drills, and awareness programs.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses; determine root causes and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with DOLE, BFP, and regulatory agencies during inspections and submissions.
• Maintain safety records, inspections, incident reports, training records, and CAPA actions.
