Job summary

Universal Robina Corporation in the Philippines is seeking a Safety and Environmental Officer to lead the establishment and continual improvement of EHS systems in accordance with GMP, ISO 9001:2015, HACCP, HALAL, and FSSC frameworks. The role includes risk assessment updates, regulatory liaison, and plant-wide safety oversight.

Qualifications

• Graduate of any engineering course.
• With at least one year of experience in managing and handling occupational safety, health and environment (EHS) processes in the food industry.
• Knowledge in pollution control, risk and disaster management, emergency preparedness, and business continuity planning.
• Aptitude in environmental and occupational laws and regulations.
• Team-player, customer-centric, and innovative work attitude.

Responsibilities

• Spearheads establishment, implementation and continual improvement of Safety and Environmental Management Systems.
• Initiates CARES risk assessments and keeps them up-to-date.
• Acts as Liaison Officer between the plant and regulatory agencies.
• Monitors operations to ensure compliance with health, safety and environment regulations.
• Assists in accident/incident investigations and tracks corrective actions.
• Validates 3rd party compliance with health, safety and environment requirements.
• Monitors regulatory compliance and implements action plans for improvement.
• Prepares and submits regulatory reports and reports mandated by the Company.
• Ensures effective implementation of OSHE training plans.
• Assists government representatives during plant visits.
• Conducts fire and other emergency drills at the required frequency.
• Ensures hazardous works are performed safely via routine workplace checks.
• Leads monthly OSHE meetings and inspections.
• Applies permit renewals as scheduled and as needed.
