Job summary

Dempsey Resource Management in the Philippines is seeking a qualified Pollution Control Officer or Safety Officer with 5+ years in industrial/manufacturing settings. The role requires strong knowledge of ISO EMS, OHS management, and regulatory compliance.

The incumbent will plan and execute company-wide audits, implement corrective actions, and prepare for third-party and regulatory inspections, while ensuring safety and environmental programs meet local laws and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in B.S. Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering courses.
• At least five (5) or more years of experience as a Pollution Control Officer or Safety Officer in industrial/manufacturing industry.
• In-depth knowledge of ISO Environmental Management System, Occupational Health, and Safety Management System.
• Experience in Responsible Business Alliance Certification is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of local and national regulations on Environment and Health.
• Ability to plan and execute company-wide audits, implement corrective actions, and prepare for third-party and regulatory inspections.

Responsibilities

• Facility Environmental Activities : Monitoring and management of companies compliance to legal requirements, develop Environmental Programs for environmental protection and preservation
• Workers Health : Management of all activities/programs and facilities related to Worker's Health and Well
• Workplace Occupational Safety : Management of all activities/programs and facilities related to Worker's Safety and Asset Protection
• System Management : Sustainability of certification for OSHAS 18001 and ISO 14001
• Customer Audit and CSR : Manage customer audits and CSR activities
• Implement and continuously improve the company’s EHS management system (EMS) aligned with ISO principles, ensuring documentation, procedures, and records support audit readine
• Ensure adherence to local and national Environment and Health laws. This includes the maintenance of the company’s current certifications, environmental permits, and staying up-to-date on emerging health and safety regulations
• Lead risk assessments, investigations into accidents, root cause analysis, and implementing preventive corrective actions to reduce incident frequency and severity.
• Oversee EHS requirements for contractors working on-site to ensure their compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Provide EHS training to employees to increase awareness and understanding of workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
• Serve as the company’s primary liaison with regulatory agencies, during inspections, investigations, and audits.
