Ascensus is seeking a Senior Microsoft Dynamics Software Engineer to drive development within our Dynamics CRM program, supporting sales, onboarding, and retirement operations. You will champion quality, participate in design and coding, and explore AI-assisted development to boost productivity while maintaining security and compliance.

Job description

The Senior Microsoft Dynamics Software Engineer role is responsible for software development within Ascensus’s Dynamics CRM program, a heavily customized environment supporting sales, onboarding, and retirement business operations. The Microsoft Dynamics Software Engineer works closely with the team’s product owner, engineering team and business to understand business needs and develop technical solutions in both on-premise and cloud environments. This role also collaborates with Program Architects, Application architects, DevOps engineers, and developers to promote innovation, integration, reusability, stability, scalability, and consistency across our Dynamics program.

The Microsoft Dynamics Software Engineer delivers software in accordance with established architecture direction, and Microsoft Dynamics best practices. Successful candidates will bring a passion for quality and continuous delivery, as this role is critical to the success of our teams and program.

Our teams leverage AI to improve software delivery and engineer productivity, and successful engineers will advance our usage of AI-assisted development tools where appropriate. This role also researches other new technologies and tools to remain abreast of current and emerging technologies and introduces new opportunities for innovation and modernization of our Microsoft Dynamics program.

Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Establishes strong alignment with Product Owners to understand and deliver on road maps
• Utilizes standards, proofs of concept, and templates to produce high quality software
• Leverag es AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar platforms to accelerate software design, coding, refactoring, testing, and documentation.
• Participates in project discussions to remove technical impediments, and assists in establishing estimates
• Performs design and development for complex tasks as an active contributor to the project pipeline
• Collaborates with Application Architects and Program Architects to identify, develop, and testthe best possible solutions
• Takes ownership and provides technical leadership when production issues arise requiring software engineering expertise
• Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by our client to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to our clients.

Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of Software Engineering experience with a minimum of 2 years in a Microsoft Dynamics role
• Expert in Microsoft Dynamics development and integrations
• Experience working in environments where Dynamics coexists with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms is a plus
• Familiarity with AI-assisted software development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar coding assistants.
• Experience migrating data from various CRM systems to Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Ability to evaluate, refine, and validate AI-generated code, tests, documentation, and technical recommendations.
• Understanding of responsible AI usage in software engineering, including secure handling of confidential data, intellectual property considerations, and compliance with enterprise policies.
• Experience using AI tools to improve developer productivity, automate repetitive engineering tasks, analyze and migrate data and support continuous improvement is preferred.
• Demonstrated individual leadership, curiosity, and drive to take ownership of complex problems
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with ability to explain and influence architectural direction
• Excellent technical skills with deep knowledge of development technologies and tools
• Experience with Agile/Scrum, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, and related tools
• Expertise with server configuration, pipeline automation, and software engineering practices
• Possesses an innovative and change-oriented personality that balances well with practical need and delivery
• Experience with multiple database platforms: MS SQL Server, Sybase, Oracle, and others
• Exposure to Seismic or other similar marketing tools preferred.
