Job description

1. Material Transport and Logistics

• Loading and Unloading: Safely physically loading construction materials (lumber, hardware, cement, tools) at supplier warehouses and unloading them at active job sites.

• Securing Cargo: Properly using ratchet straps, tie-downs, bungee cords, and tarps to ensure heavy or awkward loads are secure, balanced, and weather-protected during transit.

• Order Verification: Cross-checking purchase orders, invoices, and delivery tickets against the materials loaded to ensure the construction crew gets exactly what they need without missing items.

• Time and Route Management: Navigating efficiently between hardware stores, suppliers, and various job sites to minimize downtime for the builders who are waiting on supplies.

2. Vehicle Maintenance and Upkeep

• Daily Inspections: Conducting routine pre-trip and post-trip walkarounds to check tire tread and pressure, fluid levels (oil, coolant, wiper fluid), brakes, and functioning lights.

• Preventative Care: Tracking mileage to schedule routine maintenance like oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements on time.

• Issue Reporting: Promptly identifying and reporting any mechanical issues, dashboard warning lights, or vehicle damage to management or a mechanic before they become major repairs.
