Job summary

Ajaia is hiring a Director of IT & Security to own internal IT operations, information security, and compliance across a multi-cloud, multi-country organization. This hands-on leadership role will build and maintain systems, policies, and infrastructure that keep the company secure while driving automation wherever possible.

You will manage internal IT (devices, access, onboarding), security posture (policies, monitoring, incident response), and compliance (HIPAA, SOC 2, vendor risk).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or equivalent experience (required).
• 8+ years in IT operations, information security, cloud security, or compliance/audit management.
• Hands-on experience with multi-cloud environments (GCP and Azure).
• Experience building and enforcing security policies, access controls, and incident response procedures.
• Strong understanding of identity management (SAML SSO, MFA, RBAC) and network security fundamentals.
• Proficiency with AI tools and using automation to reduce operational burden.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills; ability to translate security concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
• Able to work autonomously in a fast-paced, fully remote, distributed environment.

Responsibilities

• Own internal IT operations, devices, access, and onboarding.
• Champion security posture, monitoring, incident response, and policy enforcement.
• Oversee compliance (HIPAA, SOC 2, vendor risk) across multi-cloud setup.
• Lead automation using AI to streamline routine operations and reporting.
• Develop and maintain security documentation and auditable controls.
• Potentially build a small security/IT team as the company scales.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across research, delivery, and governance.
