Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Engine / Generator Mechanic to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. You will perform maintenance, inspection and repair of engines and generator systems per Navy standards and manufacturer specs.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, routine servicing, and documenting actions. The role requires safety adherence, ability to work in remote environments, and travel where needed.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in engine maintenance or generator repair.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of internal combustion engines and generator systems.
• Ability to read manuals and schematics.
• Ability to travel internationally with valid passport.
• Ability to obtain visas as required.
• Pass medical and deployment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting mechanical issues and preventive maintenance for diesel/generator equipment.
• Perform routine servicing and diagnose faults; document maintenance actions.
• Maintain tools/work areas; ensure safety and environmental compliance.
• Support load testing and emergency power responses.
• Other duties related to the role as assigned.
