Job Summary
The Design Management Lead -Architect with 3–5 years of relevant experience who can take ownership of design management activities and lead multidisciplinary coordination. The candidate should possess strong architectural and technical knowledge, demonstrate leadership potential, and be capable of ensuring that design deliverables are completed on time, coordinated properly, and aligned with project requirements. Function as the key link between the design team, consultants, client, contractors, and project management team, proactively identifying and resolving design issues while maintaining the project's design intent, quality, budget, and schedule.
Duties and Responsibilities
Minimumof 3–5 years ofrelevant experience in architectural design, design coordination, project development, or design management. Proven experience handling or coordinating the design requirements of commercial,mixed-use or similar projects. Experience coordinating withmultidisciplinary consultants, including Structural, MEPF, Civil,Interior Design, Landscape, and other specialist consultants.
PLANNING & DESIGN
- Assist the Technical Project Team Head in preparing project deliverables.
- Responsible for providing initial conceptual design studies, high level timeline and high level costing for project feasibility and product intent alignment for business development team.
20% DESIGN REVIEW AND STANDARDIZATION COMPLIANCE
- Perform design reviews of architectural and engineering packages
- Assist the Technical Project Team Head in reviewing Consultant’s proposalsto ensure that only fair and reasonable Design fee is recommended for approval
- Responsible for updating the project accomplishment status via Smart sheet
- Assist Design Managers in coordinating with Cost Planning per project phase and aligning with Business Development Team, as per budget allocation.
- Assist Design Managers in preparation ofstudies as per annual goals/objectivesin improving design and process standards of SPI.
- Responsible for research and developing ideas with the latest industry trends and technologies.
40% PROJECT MONITORING AND COORDINATION
- Assist the Technical Project Team Head in managing design consultants (Foreign and Local) and projects assigned to the team
- Attend meetings and assist in determining project requirements
- Track the progress and quality of work being performed by design consultants
- Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the Technical Project Team Head
- Track and monitor project milestones from preplanning; to planning and design stage;shortlisting; to bids and awards; to construction and project turn-over as aligned with CAD, CM, and BAC.
- Keep the Technical Project Team Head informed about the project status and issues that may impact timelines and budget
CONSTRUCTION
- Attend Project Technical Group meetings
- Track and manage change notices and change orders
- Periodic site inspections to verify construction progress and adherence to approved plans and specifications
- Assist in monitoring construction progress, schedule, budget and quality of works
- Assist in turnover of completed projects to Property Management Team
- Archiving plans and compilation for records/billing purposes.
- Securing billing-related documents of consultants, supplier, contractors, etc.
- Responsible in ensuring alignment of RFAs and RFIs with design intent, client expectations, and as per SPI standards.
Technical Competencies and Skills
Ability to fluently present and communicate to clients and/or other stakeholders the project design, program, issues, strategies, etc.
- Capable in reviewing Architectural, Engineering, Landscape and Interior Design packages
- Capable of conducting multi-discipline design review
- Strong communication, project management skills and with site experience
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Photoshop, Sketchup and Enscape
- Knowledge in relevant codes, ordinances, guidelines and standards
Education, Trainings and Licenses Required
Graduate of BS in Architecture or similar courses such as Landscape Architecture, Urban Design and Environmental PlanningHas attended UAP Seminars or CPE, Project Management Seminars is an advantage
