OPEN INNOVATION INC. in Metro Manila is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to manage, secure, and optimise our database infrastructure. You will support critical applications, implement backups, and collaborate with development teams to ensure reliable data services.

The role requires 3+ years of DBA experience and proficiency with major databases. Exposure to cloud databases and scripting for automation is highly valued.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional DBA experience.
• Proficiency with Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of database architecture and relational concepts.
• Experience in performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
• Experience with backup/recovery, replication, and failover.
• Strong security practices for data access and encryption.
• Scripting for automation (T-SQL, PL/SQL, or Bash).
• Familiarity with cloud DB services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, GCP).
• Certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain database management systems across the organisation's infrastructure.
• Monitor database performance and implement optimisation strategies for peak efficiency.
• Perform regular backups and develop disaster recovery plans.
• Enforce data security through access controls and encryption.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues promptly to minimise business impact.
• Collaborate with development teams to support deployment and schema design.
• Manage user access and document configurations and procedures.
• Plan capacity and recommend upgrades to support growth.
• Stay updated with industry best practices and security patches.
