Job summary

Ascent Solutions Philippines Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator to design, implement, optimize, and maintain database systems, ensuring data integrity, high performance, and high availability in mission-critical environments.

You will lead performance tuning, DR planning, security, and automation. The role requires mentoring junior DBAs, collaborating with development teams, and driving best practices across MS SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on DBA experience.
• Proficiency in major databases (MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Experience with performance tuning, backup/restore, clustering, replication, and monitoring tools.
• Strong knowledge of security standards and data protection.
• Automation scripting with PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Experience with cloud-based database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, GCP Cloud SQL) is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and manage database systems (MS SQL, Postgres, Oracle)
• Monitor database performance and optimize query execution, indexing, and storage
• Implement and manage high-availability and disaster recovery solution
• Ensure data security, access control, and compliance with company policies
• Automate routine administration tasks using scripts and tools
• Troubleshoot complex database issues and perform root-cause analysis
• Support development teams with data modeling, schema design, and SQL code review
• Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and patches
• Maintain documentation for systems, configurations, and procedures
• Mentor junior database administrators and provide leadership on best practices
