Job summary

ERNI is seeking a qualified Database Administrator to manage and optimize our data environments. You will monitor, troubleshoot, and tune databases across SQL Server, Azure PostgreSQL, Snowflake, and Oracle, ensuring security and high availability. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and ongoing automation are key.

Hybrid work setup preferred. Responsibilities include backups, migrations, performance tuning, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience in database administration and production support.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Azure PostgreSQL Flexible Server.
• Knowledge of Oracle Database and Snowflake an advantage.
• Experience with database monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain database environments to ensure availability and performance.
• Troubleshoot database issues and provide solutions.
• Perform database performance tuning and query optimization.
• Manage backups, recovery, and health checks.
• Support security, access management, and best practices.
• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams on migrations and upgrades.
• Assist with cloud and on-prem migrations and platform changes.
• Maintain up-to-date technical documentation.

What are our wishes?

• Experience in database administration and production support.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Azure PostgreSQL Flexible Server.
• Working knowledge of Oracle Database and Snowflake is an advantage.
• Experience in database monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of backup, recovery, database security, and access management.
• Experience with database migrations and platform upgrades.
• Familiarity with cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Basic scripting or automation skills using PowerShell, Python, SQL, Bash, or similar tools.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

How can you contribute to the team?

• Monitor and maintain database environments to ensure availability and performance.
• Troubleshoot database issues and provide appropriate solutions.
• Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and configuration reviews.
• Manage routine database maintenance, backups, recovery, and health checks.
• Support database security, access management, and operational best practices.
• Work with application, infrastructure, and development teams to resolve database-related issues.
• Support database migrations, upgrades, and platform changes.
• Assist with moving databases between cloud and self-hosted environments.
• Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive database administration tasks.

Work Arrangement

• Hybrid set up, once a month or when needed only
• 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM (Mon-Fri)
