Job summary

ERNI, located in Metro Manila (Mandaluyong), is seeking a Java back-end developer to join our growing software team. You will design, develop, and maintain Java-based back-end applications and services across microservices architectures.

You will collaborate with Business Analysts, Data Engineers, QA, DevOps, and other IT teams to deliver high-quality software. A strong background in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and TDD is expected.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java programming and software development
• Experience with Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Hibernate
• Knowledge of REST APIs, JMS and WebLogic
• Experience with microservices architecture and Java generics
• Strong OOP, design patterns, and software design principles
• Experience with TDD and software testing practices
• Familiarity with Git and version control systems
• Understanding of deployment, integration, and support processes
• Collaboration with BI, Data Engineers, QA/Applications, DevOps and IT teams
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based back-end applications and services
• Build and enhance applications using Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST APIs
• Develop and maintain microservices and system integrations
• Apply OOP and design patterns with Java best practices
• Write clean, maintainable, testable code with unit tests
• Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, and performance improvements
• Configure, monitor, and optimize deployed applications
• Support deployments and coordinate with DevOps and infra teams
• Analyze issues and provide fixes or recommendations
• Collaborate with stakeholders throughout the SDLC
• Prepare technical and development documentation and training materials
• Contribute to code quality and development practice improvements

• Apply object-oriented design principles, software design patterns, and Java best practices when implementing solutions

• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, including appropriate unit and automated tests

• Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, defect resolution, and application performance improvements

• Configure, monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance deployed applications

• Support application deployments and coordinate with DevOps and infrastructure teams when required

• Analyze technical issues and provide appropriate fixes or recommendations

• Work closely with Business Analysts, QA, Data Engineers, DevOps, and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle

• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, development documentation, operational manuals, and training materials as needed

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to code quality, maintainability, reliability, and development practices
