CPS Asia Pacific is seeking a Mid-Level Database Administrator to manage and optimize our database environments, ensuring data integrity and system reliability. You will handle SQL scripting, performance tuning, and automation to support business operations.
Ideal candidates have 2+ years of experience with MariaDB/MySQL or equivalent databases, plus familiarity with AWS RDS and CloudWatch. A hybrid work setup is available with potential weekend shifts during busy periods.
We are looking for a Mid-Level Database Administrator who will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing database environments to ensure data integrity, system reliability, and overall database performance.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in SQL scripting and database management, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with MariaDB/MySQL, AWS RDS, database operations, and automation is an advantage.
Database Administration & Operations
Manage and maintain relational database systems to ensure stability, reliability, and performance.
Monitor database health and troubleshoot database-related issues and performance bottlenecks.
Perform database maintenance activities, including backups, restoration, cleanup, and recovery.
Manage database users and access as required.
Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across systems.
Database Development & Optimization
Develop and maintain SQL scripts, queries, stored procedures, and database objects.
Perform query optimization and database indexing to improve performance.
Design and maintain tables, views, stored procedures, and other database structures.
Enhance existing database processes based on business and operational requirements.
Data Management & Support
Perform data updates, bulk data processing, and large-scale data transfers.
Support data requests and reporting requirements from internal teams.
Analyze and validate datasets to identify discrepancies and maintain data quality.
Work closely with internal departments to resolve database and data-related concerns.
Process Improvement & Automation
Identify opportunities to improve database and operational processes.
Develop scripts or automated solutions to minimize manual work and improve efficiency.
Support data migration, ETL, and other database-related initiatives when required.
At least 2 years of experience in SQL scripting and database management.
At least 2–3 years of hands-on experience with MariaDB or MySQL is preferred.
Candidates without MariaDB/MySQL experience may be considered if they have at least 2 years of experience with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL), or PostgreSQL.
Strong knowledge of:
SQL scripting
Database indexing
Query optimization

Database design and maintenance
Familiarity with AWS RDS and CloudWatch is an advantage.
Basic knowledge of Linux commands and Shell scripting.
Experience with database operations such as user creation, backup, restoration, and data maintenance is preferred.
Experience with automation, ETL, or data migration is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail and ability to handle repetitive and complex data-related tasks.
Good teamwork and communication skills when working with internal teams.
Proficient English communication skills are not required.
Willing to work on a morning shift.
Willing to follow rotational weekly schedules when required by business operations.
Willing to work occasional weekends as needed.
Paid overtime may be required depending on operational demands.
Mandatory monthly Return-to-Office (RTO) is required, particularly during busy periods and month-end reporting.
Willing to work in a hybrid setup.
Background in database operations rather than purely database development.
Experience with automation tools and process automation.
Experience with ETL processes and data migration.
Knowledge of Shell, Python, or PowerShell scripting.
Experience in database performance tuning and system monitoring.
Familiarity with AWS database services and cloud environments.
