Job summary

Rising Tide Digital, Inc. is seeking a skilled Database Administrator to manage, optimize, and secure enterprise databases across on-premises and cloud environments in Metro Manila.

The role emphasizes availability, performance, security, and recoverability, with hands-on responsibility for major database platforms. You will implement backup/recovery, ensure high availability, monitor health, and develop automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or SQL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field.
• At least 3 years of proven experience as a Database Administrator, Database Engineer, or similar role.
• Hands-on experience with one or more enterprise database platforms such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, database architecture, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and database security.
• Experience with high availability, replication, clustering, and disaster recovery technologies.
• Familiarity with cloud database services (AWS, Azure, or OCI).

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, upgrade, and administer enterprise database systems.
• Administer and support databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and database scripts.
• Monitor and improve database performance through query optimization, indexing, execution-plan analysis, resource monitoring, and database tuning.
• Develop, execute, and validate database backup, restore, and recovery procedures to ensure data availability and business continuity.
• Implement and support high-availability and database replication technologies such as SQL Server Always On, Oracle Data Guard, RAC, clustering, and replication.
• Manage database users, roles, privileges, authentication, encryption, auditing, and security hardening in accordance with organizational security standards.
• Diagnose and resolve database errors, performance issues, connectivity problems, failed jobs, and other database-related incidents.
• Monitor database health, availability, capacity, performance, storage, resource utilization, and overall system stability.
• Develop scripts and automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, SQL, or similar technologies to streamline routine DBA activities.

About the role

The DBA will be responsible for ensuring database availability, performance, security, integrity, and recoverability, while providing technical support and troubleshooting for database-related incidents and issues.
