Job summary

CPS Asia Pacific is seeking a Mid-Level Database Administrator to manage and optimize our database environments, ensuring data integrity and system reliability. You will handle SQL scripting, performance tuning, and automation to support business operations.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of experience with MariaDB/MySQL or equivalent databases, plus familiarity with AWS RDS and CloudWatch. A hybrid work setup is available with potential weekend shifts during busy periods.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in SQL scripting and database management.
• At least 2–3 years of hands-on experience with MariaDB or MySQL.
• Experience with Oracle, MSSQL, or PostgreSQL acceptable with 2+ years in any.
• Strong knowledge of SQL scripting, database indexing, and query optimization.
• Experience with AWS RDS and CloudWatch is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of Linux commands and Shell scripting.
• Experience with automation, ETL, or data migration is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain relational database systems for stability, reliability, and performance.
• Monitor database health and troubleshoot issues and bottlenecks.
• Perform backups, restoration, cleanup, and recovery tasks.
• Manage database users and access requirements.
• Develop and maintain SQL scripts, queries, and procedures.
• Optimize queries and indexing to improve performance.
• Handle data updates, bulk processing, and large transfers.
• Support data requests and reporting needs from internal teams.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve data-related concerns.
• Identify opportunities to automate processes and reduce manual work.
