Job summary

Maxicare Healthcare Corporation is seeking a Database Administrator to maintain and support all company databases, ensuring data retrievability in emergencies.

The role covers installation, configuration, performance tuning, backup & recovery, security and high availability across on-premises and cloud environments. You will troubleshoot issues and work in a dynamic environment with minimal user disruption.

Qualifications

• Database installation, configuration, maintenance, and administration.
• Knowledge of enterprise databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL.
• Advanced SQL querying, stored procedures, functions, and views.
• Performance tuning, indexing, and execution plan optimization.
• Backup, restore, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery.

Job description

The Database administrator is responsible for the maintenance and support of all Maxicare Databases including troubleshooting of any issues that may arise. The post holder will work in an environment of continuous change while minimizing disruption to system users ensuring that all data is retrievable in an emergency.

• Database Administration - Installation, configuration, maintenance, and administration of databases
• Database Technologies - Strong knowledge of SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other enterprise databases
• SQL - Advanced SQL querying, stored procedures, functions, views, and optimization
• Performance Tuning - Query optimization, indexing, execution plans, database performance monitoring and tuning
• Backup & Recovery - Database backup, restore, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery
• High Availability - Replication, clustering, Always On, Data Guard, RAC, or equivalent HA technologies
• Database Security - User/access management, roles and privileges, encryption, auditing, and security hardening
• Troubleshooting - Diagnosis and resolution of database errors, performance issues, connectivity problems, and incidents
