Job summary

MicroSourcing in Cebu City, Cebu, Philippines is hiring a Data Engineer. Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes to support analytics and BI initiatives.

You will collaborate with analysts and stakeholders, optimize data architectures, ensure data quality, and implement monitoring and performance tuning for efficient processing. Hybrid, full-time with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/Engineering.
• 3+ years in data engineering or related roles.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and relational DBs.
• Hands-on with Spark, Airflow, dbt.
• Experience with cloud data platforms preferred.

Your Role

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
• Develop and optimize data architectures to support analytics and business intelligence initiatives.
• Integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring quality, integrity, and reliability.
• Collaborate with analysts, scientists, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Implement monitoring, validation, and performance tuning to ensure efficient data processing.

Non-negotiables

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles
• Strong proficiency in SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server
• Hands-on experience with data processing frameworks and tools such as Spark, Airflow, dbt
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala

Preferred Skills/Expertise

• Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Familiarity with data warehousing solutions such as Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery
• Understanding of data modeling concepts (star schema, dimensional modeling)
• Experience with streaming technologies like Kafka
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
