Job summary

A leading maritime shipping company is seeking a Crewing Manager to oversee crew personnel management and seamless crew replacements. Candidates must hold a degree in Maritime Studies and have at least five years of relevant experience. This position is based in Manila, Philippines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage crew personnel and conduct replacements when needed.

  • Ensures crew rotations are executed as scheduled and addresses deviations.
  • Conducts interviews with newly hired crew members to assess qualifications.
  • Serves as main point of contact for communication between principals, vessels, and crew.
  • Ensures information is conveyed effectively to all parties and addresses inquiries.
  • Monitors performance and compliance of deck and engine crews.
  • Takes actions to address issues related to crew performance or safety.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by superior.

JOB SUMMARY

The Crewing Manager is responsible for effectively managing crew personnel, ensuring seamless crew replacement, conducting interviews for new hires, and maintaining clear communication with principals and vessels. This role involves monitoring the progress of replacement plans and overseeing the performance of the deployed deck and engine crews.

List of Specific Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plans crew replacements to meet operational requirements.
  • Coordinates with relevant stakeholders to align replacement schedules with vessel needs.
  • Continuously monitors and assesses the progress of crew replacement plans.
  • Ensures that crew rotations are executed as scheduled and addresses any deviations promptly.
  • Conducts interviews with newly hired crew members to assess qualifications and suitability.
  • Serves as the main point of contact for communication between principals, vessels, and crew members.
  • Ensures that information is conveyed effectively to all relevant parties and addresses inquiries or concerns.
  • Monitors the performance and compliance of deck and engine crews.
  • Takes necessary actions to address issues related to crew performance or safety.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the immediate superior from time to time.
Minimum Qualifications
  • College graduate of Maritime Studies or any related course
  • At least five (5) years similar experience in the same capacity
