Job summary

International Food Services PH Branch Office is seeking a senior training and development professional to lead career progression, competency assessment, and crew coaching for client vessels. You will design training plans, conduct trade tests, and develop modules to ensure crews meet IFS and client standards.

You will also brief/debrief client crew, monitor development, and collaborate with teams to uphold SHEQ, health, and safety standards across maritime assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Hotel and Restaurant Management or related field.
• Proficient in written and oral English communication.
• Ability to present, facilitate discussion and integrate insights.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Computer literate (MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Solid knowledge of Hygiene Legislation and food safety standards.
• Health & Safety Regulations and MARPOL guidelines knowledge.
• Cooking certification in international cuisine; additional cuisines a plus.
• Training of Trainers (TOT) / Instructor's course or equivalent qualification.
• Experience with competency-based assessment and trade testing methods.
• Experience in preparing training plans, modules, and training reports.

Responsible for the career development, competency assessment and training of the crew deployed to client vessels. Monitors crew career progression, conducts briefing and debriefing of the client's crew, assesses training needs and prepares the corresponding training plan, administers trade tests for new galley crew and for crew endorsed for promotion, and develops modules, delivers training and provides one-on-one coaching to ensure crew consistently meet IFS and client standards.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor in Hotel and Restaurant Management or any related culinary and management courses
• Proficient in written and oral English communication
• Has the ability present with impact, facilitate discussion and integrate insights
• Has good planning and organizational skills
• Computer literate (MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Has solid knowledge of Hygiene Legislation and food safety standards
• Has good understanding of Health & Safety Regulations and MARPOL Guidelines
• Cooking certification in international cuisine; additional knowledge of other cuisines is a plus
• Training of Trainers (TOT) / Instructor's course or equivalent qualification in training and assessment, an advantage.
• Working knowledge of competency-based assessment and trade testing methods
• Skilled in preparing training plans, modules, assessment tools and training reports

Experience

• More than 5 years of onboard experience as Chief Cook
• Cook European, Asian, Mediterranean and American Cuisines
• Bake breads, cakes and pastries
• Ability to manage and understand different cultures and backgrounds and to connect within IFS
• Reliable, flexible, and proactive work ethic
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• At least 1 year of experience in training delivery, competency assessment or crew development, preferably in a marine catering or hospitality environment
• Experience in conducting briefing and debriefing, trade testing and one-on-one coaching
• Experience in preparing and implementing a training plan and in maintaining training and career development records
