Job summary

Metrobank is seeking a Credit Review Officer to assess and recommend credit decisions for a range of borrowers, from individuals to large corporates. The role centers on financial analysis, credit scoring, and risk assessment to ensure lending standards are met.

You will prepare credit files, collaborate with Relationship Managers, validate data, and monitor accounts to flag early warning signals, contributing to sound portfolio management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field.
• At least 2 years of credit experience, preferably in commercial and corporate lending.
• Strong analytical skills and adept in re-construction and interpreting financial statements.
• Ability to identify risks on the borrower and credit proposals.
• Strong work ethic and a high level of personal and professional integrity.
• An effective communicator with strong oral, written, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Completion of reports related to the handled credit portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Prepares ERCA for credit onboarding and renewals, ensuring alignment with policy and SLA timelines.
• Validates financial data and completes financial reconstruction or recasting, and projections, to support sound credit decisions.
• Evaluate credit risk for simple to complex accounts, with compliance to standard credit accommodations.
• Apply credit scoring models and financial analysis to determine repayment capacity.
• Appropriately assess credit risk ratings and classifications and demonstrate strict compliance to documentation and Bank policies.
• Work with Relationship Managers to gather necessary documentation and clarify borrower details.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of credit files for audit and review.
• Monitor approved accounts periodically and flag early warning signals.
• Maintain records of work metrics and ensure timely completion of reviews.
• Performs effective portfolio management, recognizes potential issues that require action or escalation.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall success of the Bank.
