Job summary

DP World Philippines is seeking a Crane Supervisor to oversee maintenance of quay cranes and RTGs, with a focus on reliability and uptime. The role requires supervising technicians, coordinating preventive tasks, and supporting the Reliability team in root-cause analysis.

You will manage spare parts, ensure safety policies, and work in shifts. A degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• 5 years in equipment maintenance for quay cranes/RTG.
• Willingness to work in shifts and have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Supervises maintenance and repair jobs to ensure work orders are completed.
• Ensures preventive maintenance tasks are completed and technicians adhere to specs.
• Provides information on work orders, breakdown causes, and manpower details.
• Encodes defects and offers technical advice as needed.
• Prepares spare parts requisitions and supports OEM part numbering standards.
• Drives root-cause analysis with Reliability team to reduce downtime.

Job description

This position is with one of DP World’s entities in the Philippines and will be employed under our Ports and Terminals business pillar.

As a Crane Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing maintenance activities, ensuring effective parts planning and management, and driving continuous process improvement. The role will focus on maintaining crane reliability and availability by identifying and addressing the root causes of prolonged downtime, recurring breakdowns, and increasing breakdown frequency.

Key Accountabilities

• Supervises maintenance and repair jobs assigned to him to ensure completion of work order, including contractor maintenance related activities
• Ensures preventive maintenance tasks completion and technician’s compliance to the set parameters.
• Provides information to Shift Planners on completion of work orders and accomplishes work order details on nature and cause of breakdown, manpower deployed for the specific task, duration of repair, and feedback other relevant information on Mainpac.
• Encodes identified and reported defects on the system and provides technical advice and assistance whenever required.
• Acts as Shift Manager in the absence of the superintendent.
• Prepares requisition of all important spare parts and provides technical specifications as provided from the equipment manual
• Assists in driving stocking item naming convention standardization, incorporating Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)-specific part number/serial number to eliminate requests for clarification from OEMs.
• Assists the Reliability team in identifying the root cause of issues resulting to long duration of downtime, recurring breakdowns, and increase of breakdown frequency through conducting root cause analysis
• Ensures compliance to all Safety-related policies on all types of maintenance.

Qualities, Skills and Experience

• Graduate of Electrical or Mechanical Engineering course
• With 5-year work experience in equipment maintenance specifically Quay Cranes and Rubber -Tyred Gantry (RTG)
• Must be willing to work in shifts
• With valid driver's license
• Proficient in MS Office
