Job summary

Rhenus Logistics in the Philippines seeks a Country Product Manager - Ocean Freight to lead the ocean freight portfolio, pricing, tariff management, carrier relations, and the commercial development in alignment with global and regional strategy.

You will define strategy, manage carrier performance, negotiate rates and contracts, guide sales teams, and drive cross-country initiatives while traveling as needed. This role demands strong leadership and a proactive, results‑driven approach.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years' experience in an ocean product role in a freight forwarding company or ocean carrier experience.
• Strong negotiation and analytical skills with a hands-on mindset.
• Service-minded with ownership and customer focus.
• Minimum 5 years in people management including recruitment, training & development, coaching, conflict & performance management.
• Willingness to travel for country- and region-wide activities.
• Proactive, responsible, and able to work without micromanagement.
• Passion for continuously improving ocean freight products and processes.

Responsibilities

• Decide which liners & co-loaders can be used within the country beyond core carriers, aligning with regional Product Heads.
• Implement the Core Carrier Policy locally and monitor adherence.
• Negotiate and enforce local and global credit terms with carriers and co-loaders.
• Negotiate rates, file tariffs, and generate contracts for tenders and large volumes.
• Define and align commercial and product strategy with regional teams and leadership.
• Forecast requirements for low and peak seasons and ensure service stability with the regional team.
• Lead tender strategy and provide selling rates guidance to sales teams.
