Fabtech Export Industries, Inc. is seeking a Cost Estimator to work closely with engineers and stakeholders to deliver accurate cost estimates for construction projects in the Philippines.
The role involves calculating labor, materials, and resources to ensure timely quotations and competitive pricing. The ideal candidate has a engineering or construction management background, proven estimating experience, strong math skills, and fluency in blueprint interpretation.
The Cost Estimator will work closely with engineers, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to develop accurate and timely cost estimates. This position also calculates and estimates the expected cost of construction of a given project. This includes assessments of labor, materials, and other required resources to ensure accurate quotations are delivered on schedule.
Read and interpret product blueprints, engineering designs, and technical specifications to determine the scope of work
Pinpoint all variables that influence the final cost, including raw material prices, production time, machine wear, and specialized labor
Study records of previous, similar projects to identify spending trends, build benchmarks, and prevent repeating budget overruns
Itemize every single component, fastener, packaging element, and raw material required to manufacture an item
Calculate the exact volume or number of raw materials needed for production based on product dimensions and scrap rate expectations
Estimate manufacturing scrap rates, allowances for machine setup waste, and historical defect rates to adjust the true volume of materials needed
Partner closely with industrial and manufacturing engineers to optimize designs for cost efficiency
Provide final cost breakdowns to sales divisions so they can prepare precise bids, client proposals, and competitive product pricing
Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a similar field
Proven work experience as a cost estimator
Advanced knowledge of construction and engineering processes
High-level mathematical skills
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Good verbal and written communication skills
Advanced analytical skills
Proficient with MS Excel and Relevant Applications
