Job summary

Stoneridge in Cd Juárez, Mexico, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to own and support electronic products in production. You will lead investigations, validate engineering changes, and resolve manufacturing issues while ensuring product robustness to meet customer specifications and automotive standards.

The role covers EMC validation, functional testing, environmental testing, and collaboration with Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and OEM customers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience supporting electronic products in automotive production (Tier 1 preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of automotive electronic systems and sustaining engineering practices.
  • Experience troubleshooting electronic assemblies using laboratory equipment including oscilloscope, multimeter, power supplies, electronic loads, and data acquisition systems.
  • Experience with DFMEA, PFMEA and design verification activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical ownership for current production electronic products.
  • Lead root cause analysis using structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, Fault Tree Analysis).
  • Develop and execute validation plans for engineering changes and cost reduction initiatives.

expectations, and motivate our team.**JOB SUMMARY:**The Current Product Electronics Engineer (CPE) is responsible for providing technical ownership and engineering support for electronic products in production throughout their lifecycle.This position supports current production by leading technical investigations, validating engineering changes, resolving customer and manufacturing issues, performing failure analysis, supporting warranty investigations, and ensuring product robustness while maintaining compliance with customer specifications and automotive standards.The engineer supports multiple product families including Electromechanical Actuators, Trailer Tow Connectors, Underhood and Cabin Switches.The role works closely with Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Suppliers, Test Engineering and OEM customers.**PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:*** Provide technical ownership for current production electronic products.* Support manufacturing plants by troubleshooting electronic product issues and implementing corrective actions.* Perform root cause analysis using structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, Fault Tree Analysis, etc.).* Lead electronic failure analysis of returned warranty parts, production rejects and customer concerns.* Develop and execute technical validation plans for engineering changes, component substitutions, supplier changes and cost reduction initiatives.* Develop EMC validation plans and support conducted and radiated immunity/emissions testing to ensure continued compliance with customer requirements.* Support product validation activities including: + EMC Testing + Functional Testing + Electrical Performance + Environmental Testing* Support validation and troubleshooting of electric actuator systems including: + Brushed DC Motors + Motor Driver Circuits + Position Feedback Systems + Hall Effect Sensors + Current Sensing + Geartrain Position Verification* Support Trailer Tow Connector products including signal integrity, electrical continuity, corrosion investigations and field issue resolution.* Support electronic switch products including contact performance, debounce behavior, electrical functionality and durability investigations.* Design, develop and improve electrical bench test equipment and functional validation fixtures for engineering and manufacturing.* Develop electrical schematics and wiring diagrams for laboratory and production test setups.* Support Engineering Change Requests (CCB) from technical evaluation through production implementation.* Perform risk assessments associated with engineering changes.* Participate in customer technical reviews and support OEM investigations.* Work closely with suppliers during component investigations and validation activities.* Generate technical reports documenting investigations, validation results and engineering recommendations.* Support warranty reduction initiatives through technical improvements and lessons learned.* Support VA/VE and MCIP activities while maintaining product functionality and reliability.* CAN/LIN communication (when applicable)**EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:*** Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.* Minimum 5–7 years of experience supporting electronic products in automotive production (Tier 1 preferred).* Strong knowledge of automotive electronic systems and sustaining engineering practices.* Experience troubleshooting electronic assemblies using laboratory equipment including: + Oscilloscope + Multimeter + Power Supplies + Electronic Loads + Data Acquisition Systems* Strong understanding of: + Analog Electronics + Digital Electronics + Signal Conditioning + Sensor Interfaces + Power Electronics* Experience with electric actuator systems including: + Brushed DC Motors + Motor Drivers (High Side / Low Side) + H-Bridge Drivers + Current Monitoring + Position Feedback* Experience with Hall Effect sensing technologies and position feedback systems.* Understanding of actuator functional operation including mechanical and electrical interaction.* Experience developing electrical bench test setups and validation fixtures.* Experience interpreting electrical schematics and PCB documentation.* Experience preparing EMC test plans and supporting laboratory validation.* Knowledge of automotive validation standards and customer specifications.* Strong understanding of failure analysis techniques including electrical, mechanical and environmental investigations.* Experience supporting warranty investigations and customer returns.* Experience working with DFMEA, PFMEA and Design Verification activities.* Familiarity with engineering change management processes.* Strong technical
