Job summary

Konektao Global BPO Corporation in Manila is seeking an experienced Controller / Accounting Lead to oversee the accounting operations of VVR. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain records, manage month-end close, and supervise AR/AP functions.

The ideal candidate has GAAP expertise, strong financial reporting and reconciliations skills, and the ability to lead, review work, and provide management with sound financial insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience incl. financial reporting and month-end close.
• Experience as Senior Accountant, Accounting Lead, Controller or similar.
• GAAP knowledge and financial reporting practices.
• Experience with ERP and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring timely financial recording.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Prepare and review financial statements including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Monitor cash flow, bank balances, and financial transactions.
• Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable activities for timely processing.
• Review the work of accounting team members for accuracy and compliance.
• Develop, document, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Support audits with documentation and reconciliations.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller / Accounting Lead to oversee the accounting operations of VVR. This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining accounting records, managing month-end close activities, and overseeing accounts receivable and accounts payable functions. The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls, with the ability to lead accounting processes, review team members' work, and provide valuable financial insights to management.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring financial transactions are recorded accurately and on time

• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and reconciliations

• Prepare and review financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports

• Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records

• Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies

• Monitor cash flow, bank balances, and financial transactions to support effective financial management

• Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable activities to ensure timely and accurate processing

• Review the work of accounting team members to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established procedures

• Develop, document, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls

• Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, reconciliations, and financial records

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience, including experience in financial reporting, month-end close, general ledger management, and reconciliations

• Previous experience in a Senior Accountant, Accounting Lead, Controller, or similar role

• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting practices

• Hands-on experience managing accounts receivable, accounts payable, and balance sheet reconciliations

• Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and management reports

• Proficiency in accounting software or ERP systems and Microsoft Excel

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple accounting priorities independently

• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
