Job summary

The HRTx Inc. seeks a Director for Construction & Project Development to lead end-to-end delivery from planning to turnover. You will supervise large-scale retail and ground-up projects across multiple sites, ensuring quality, safety, on-time openings, and cost discipline.

The role requires a proven track record in leading construction teams, coordinating contractors and consultants, and driving an aggressive expansion program with strong leadership and strategic oversight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
• 15 years of engineering/construction experience with at least 10 years in leadership.
• Experience managing full construction lifecycle, especially ground-up projects.
• Experience in retail construction, large-format and store rollout.
• Experience handling high-volume or aggressive expansion programs.
• Experience managing contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers.
• Strong background in planning, scheduling, cost management, quality and safety.
• Proven leadership and ability to lead multiple projects/locations.
• Willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end construction lifecycle of new developments from planning to opening.
• Oversee large-format retail and large-box construction to meet scope, budget, quality and timelines.
• Develop and manage construction plans, schedules and resource requirements.
• Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, consultants and suppliers for timely execution.
• Monitor risks and delays and implement corrective actions.

Role Overview

The Director for Construction & Project Development will lead the end-to-end delivery of construction projects, from initial planning and ground-up development through completion and opening. The role will oversee multiple large-scale projects, ensuring timely execution, quality, cost efficiency, and alignment with an aggressive expansion program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
• At least 15 years of relevant engineering and construction experience, with a minimum of 10 years in a people management or leadership role.
• Proven experience managing the full construction lifecycle, particularly ground-up projects, from planning, design coordination, and permitting through construction, completion, and turnover.
• Strong experience in retail construction, particularly large-format retail projects, with an understanding of large-box site development and store rollout requirements.
• Experience handling high-volume or aggressive expansion programs, with the ability to manage multiple projects and locations simultaneously.
• Strong background in contractor, subcontractor, consultant, and supplier management and coordination.
• Solid understanding of construction planning, project scheduling, cost management, quality control, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong project management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage tight timelines and opening deadlines.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with experience leading construction teams across multiple projects or locations.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end construction lifecycle of new developments, from site planning and design coordination through construction, completion, and opening.
• Oversee the delivery of large-format retail and large-box construction projects, ensuring compliance with approved scope, budget, quality standards, and timelines.
• Develop and manage construction plans, schedules, milestones, and resource requirements to support an aggressive expansion program.
• Manage and coordinate contractors, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and other project stakeholders to ensure smooth and timely project execution.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks and potential delays, and implement appropriate corrective actions to keep projects on track.
• Ensure construction activities comply with approved plans, technical specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure projects are completed and ready for opening within established deadlines.
• Review and monitor project costs, variations, contractor performance, and overall project commercial requirements.
• Provide regular progress updates and reports to senior management, highlighting project status, key risks, timelines, costs, and required decisions.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the construction team while ensuring effective manpower allocation across multiple projects and locations.
