About the role
The Construction Administrator will provide administrative and project coordination support to an Australian construction company. The role will assist Project Managers, Construction Managers, and project teams with project documentation, subcontractor and supplier coordination, reporting, document control, project tracking, and day-to-day administrative requirements. The successful candidate will play an important role in keeping construction projects organized by ensuring that documentation, communications, project records, action items, and administrative requirements are properly coordinated and maintained.
Key responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day administrative and coordination support to Project Managers, Construction Managers, and project teams
- Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date project documentation and records
- Coordinate and maintain project files, registers, reports, trackers, and databases
- Assist with subcontractor and supplier coordination and follow up on outstanding requirements
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding documentation, approvals, information, and project actions
- Assist with the preparation and processing of purchase orders, invoices, work orders, and other project documentation
- Maintain project schedules, action lists, administrative trackers, and other project monitoring tools
- Assist with progress reporting and preparation of project status reports
- Coordinate meetings, including preparation of agendas, recording of minutes, and monitoring of follow-up actions where required
- Assist with document control, including project correspondence, drawings, specifications, reports, and other project records
About you
- Previous experience as a Construction Administrator, Project Administrator, Site Administrator, Project Coordinator, or in a similar construction-related role
- Previous experience working within the construction industry
- Good understanding of construction project workflows, processes, and documentation
- Experience coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, clients, and internal project teams
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, tasks, and deadlines effectively
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Familiarity with project management, construction management, or document management systems
