Qualifications
Required
- Graduate degree in a relevant field
- At least 5 years of experience in an international risk and compliance role within a law firm, professional services firm, bank, or similar regulated environment, with a focus on conflicts of interest
- Practical knowledge of preventing, identifying, managing, and resolving conflicts of interest
- Knowledge of professional conflict rules and jurisdictional requirements
- Experience managing conflict-checking and onboarding processes
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with partners, employees, and clients when appropriate
- Strong client focus, commercial awareness, and conflict resolution capabilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Ability to perform under pressure and respond effectively to partner and client expectations
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands
Strongly Preferred
- Experience working with international stakeholders, particularly teams based in Asia and the Middle East, Europe, or the Americas
- Proficiency in Intapp or a comparable client and matter onboarding platform
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, start-up-style, and evolving environment

- Experience with operational risk, audit, or quality control frameworks
Responsibilities
Conflicts Analysis
- Serve as the first point of escalation for the business during the conflict-checking process.
- Review and analyze conflict reports to identify actual or potential legal and commercial conflicts of interest.
- Verify that conflict request forms contain all required information and obtain clarification when necessary.
- Resolve potential conflict issues accurately and promptly.
- Maintain detailed records of conflict searches, requested approvals, decisions, and supporting rationale.
- Escalate complex matters clearly to senior team members and recommend practical courses of action.
- Follow firm policies, team procedures, and applicable jurisdictional requirements consistently.
Legal Team Support
- Provide clear, practical, and reliable conflict guidance to partners, fee earners, and other senior onshore stakeholders.
- Draft conflict and confidentiality waivers for review and approval by senior Conflicts management.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships between the Conflicts team and business stakeholders across Asia and the Middle East, Europe, or the Americas.
Special Projects
- Prepare recommendation reports for the Conflicts Committee outlining identified or potential conflicts and proposed courses of action.
- Contribute to local, regional, and international conflict-related projects as required.
- Perform other duties aligned with the purpose and responsibilities of the role.
