The Compensation and Benefits Associate assists in the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources – Compensation and Benefits team by ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. The role is responsible for payroll administration, attendance and timekeeping monitoring, statutory compliance, and providing payroll-related support to employees.
Payroll Administration & Government Compliance
- Process semi-monthly payroll accurately and on schedule.
- Collect, review, and summarize attendance and payroll-related documents, including Daily Time Records (DTR), leave forms, official business permits, overtime, and undertime requests.
- Ensure compliance with DOLE regulations, tax laws, and other statutory requirements.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, attendance, and compensation-related concerns.
- Monitor leave credits and process leave deductions for payroll.
- Monitor and process overtime claims based on payroll cut-offs.
- Review and resolve payroll-related concerns and discrepancies.
- Compute terminal pay for resigned and separated employees.
- Conduct random audits of Web DTRs.
- Monitor and compute OJT attendance and allowances.
- Prepare monthly Tardiness and Perfect Attendance reports.
- Create Purchase Requests for OJT allowances, agency billings, and newly hired employees' per diem and transportation reimbursements.
- Review and validate manpower agency billings.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Prepare payroll reports and provide data to support HR decision-making.
- Generate payroll-related documentation required for audits.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and reports.
Policy Implementation
- Assist in implementing compensation and benefits policies.
- Serve as a resource person for employee concerns related to payroll and benefits.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or any related course.
- At least 1–2 years of experience in payroll, compensation and benefits, or a similar HR role.
- Experience in the retail or food and beverage industry is an advantage.
- Experience handling payroll in organizations with 3,000+ employees is preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and familiar with HRIS and payroll systems.
- Knowledgeable in Philippine labor laws, payroll processing, and government statutory compliance.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
