Job description

1. Health and Safety Monitoring
  • Conduct health assessments (e.g., blood pressure, respiratory checks) to monitor workers' health status.
  • Administer pre-employment and periodic medical exams.
  • Identify and manage work-related health issues, including respiratory illnesses and musculoskeletal disorders.
2. Emergency Medical Response & First Aid
  • Provide immediate first aid in the event of workplace injuries or accidents.
  • Develop, implement, and review emergency medical response plans.
  • Conduct first aid and CPR training for workers and first responders.
3. Health and Safety Advocacy
  • Promote wellness programs such as healthy eating and stress management.
  • Lead health campaigns targeting common workplace health risks (e.g., heat stress, PPE use).
  • Educate workers on preventive health measures, proper lifting techniques, and the importance of safety gear.
4. Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain accurate medical records, including accident logs, injury reports, and health surveillance data.
  • Ensure compliance with DOLE regulations.
  • Prepare medical statistical reports, including medical expense reports for the head office.
5. Occupational Health and Safety Program Implementation
  • Collaborate with safety officers to assess and mitigate health risks on site.
  • Ensure workers have access to the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and are trained to use it effectively.
  • Assist in developing and implementing ergonomics programs to reduce musculoskeletal injuries.
6. Coordination with Health and Safety Professionals
  • Coordinate with external healthcare providers for referrals, specialist consultations, and hospitalization when needed.
  • Work closely with safety officers and the Safety Committee to conduct joint health and safety inspections on-site.
  • Facilitate consultations with medical and dental specialists, issuing referral slips as needed.
7. Mental Health and Well-being Support
  • Promote mental health awareness and manage stress or fatigue among workers.
  • Encourage work-life balance initiatives and offer support for mental wellness.
Additional Duties
  • Assist the Occupational Health Doctor (OH Doctor) in attending to the medical needs of employees both at the office and construction site.
  • In the absence of the OH Doctor, may issue medicines based on standing medical orders and provide emergency treatment as necessary.
  • Perform initial screening of applicants for employment.
  • Schedule and prepare referral slips for consultations with accredited medical and dental specialists.
  • Coordinate hospitalization for employees when required.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of medicines and medical supplies, preparing requisitions as needed.
  • Prepare and submit Monthly Medical Statistical Reports, Medical Expense Reports, and other required documentation for the head office.
  • Conduct health and safety inspections and safety talks during toolbox meetings on-site.
  • Registered Nurse with OHNAP Certification and a Valid PRC License.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Email, and Reporting.
  • Willing to work 6 days a week (Monday to Saturday) from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with availability for overtime as needed.
  • Willing to be deployed to Mabalacat, Pampanga (or other locations as required).
  • Willing to be stationed on the construction site.
  • Ability to perform other duties as assigned by the Construction Manager.
