ASCENSION PHILDEVELOPERS INC. is seeking a dedicated vehicle driver for mortuary services in the Cordillera region. You will operate and maintain service vehicles, transport deceased from place of death to the mortuary, and ensure respectful handling of remains with accompanying viewing equipment.
You will also assist with viewing, transport of flowers, and maintenance of equipment and records. The role includes vehicle checks, coordination with administration for repairs, driving funeral
· Prepares and maintains all assigned vehicles. Operates and drives the service vehicle in the retrieval of the deceased from the place of death (hospital/residence, etc.) and delivers this into our mortuary’s care.
· Sees to it that all deceased transferred under our care are treated with utmost respect.
· Delivers the embalmed remains for outside-chapel viewing (residence, church mortuary, barangay chapel, etc.), together with a full set of viewing equipment and paraphernalia.
· Handles all assigned vehicles with utmost care. Disinfects vehicles and retrieval paraphernalia, such as stretcher and/or body scoop kept in the vehicle after each First Call, and delivery.
· Appropriately drives funeral vehicles (hearses, vans, family cars, and flower cars) during funeral processionals from mortuary or church to the final burial or interment site (cemetery gravesite, columbarium, ossuary, etc.)
· Retrieves all funeral equipment and paraphernalia from outside viewing to be returned to mortuary immediately after the end of each service.
· Assists in carrying flowers to hearses, limousines and/or flower cars for transportation to any place of interment.
· Vacuums, cleans, washes, and polishes interiors and exteriors of the assigned service vehicles before and after each trip.
· Conducts routine vehicle check up protocol before operating. Check BLOWBAG (Brakes, Light, Oil, Water, Battery, Air, Gas).
· Performs minor vehicle trouble shooting and repairs, in coordination with Administration.
· Immediately reports vehicle’s major mechanical problems for repair to the Operations Supervisor, and to Admnin Head or Coordinator.
· Communicates with Operations Supervisor or Funeral Directors via telephone or cell phone in order to exchange information and receive requests during First Calls (taking), interments, and/or other errands.
· Promptly submits to the Operations Supervisor, written incident and/or accident reports.
· Provides passengers with assistance when entering and exiting vehicles, especially in driving for the immediate families.
· Must present an approved trip ticket issued by the Operations Supervisor or Funeral Director, indicating list of passengers, for First Calls, interments, and other errands to the Security Personnel, before leaving the company gate/premises.
· After delivery, returns Schedule of Equipment Form (SOE), duly signed and acknowledged by the customer, to Property Custodian, immediately upon arrival in office.
· Act as pallbearers for assigned interments or burials.
· Pulls out funeral/viewing lights and equipment per SOE, from customer/client. Checks condition of the viewing lights and equipment before issuing Pull-out Receipt.
· Issues Pull-out Receipt for viewing lights and equipment used for outside viewing. Requires customer to sign the Pull-Out Receipt. Informs customer/client and office for any missing or damaged equipment, to establish accountability. Reports to OS/FD any damaged equipment to be charged to whoever is accountable.
· Attaches related SOE to Pull-Out Receipt for proper recording by the Administration
· Transports complete sets of the funeral/viewing lights and equipment back to office with proper care and handling, and return it to the Administration
· Performs other duties and errands assigned from time to time by Company Officers and FD’s.
