Job summary

Asian Development Bank (ADB) invites applications for a Communications Analyst role based at the Manila headquarters. Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationship

The position of Communications Analyst is assigned to the Infrastructure and Dissemination Division (DCID) within the Department of Communications and Knowledge Management (DOCK). You will be based at our Headquarters in Manila, Philippines.

You will report to the designated Technical International Staff and/or Officer.

Your role

As a Communications Analyst, you will support the management and continuous improvement of DOCK-led web infrastructure, including adb.org, the Asian Development Blog, and Development Asia. You will assess web content and business requirements, analyze web performance and user needs, and provide recommendations to improve the effectiveness, usability, and quality of ADB's digital content.

You Will
  • Assess web content requests and business requirements and recommend appropriate content and web solutions in accordance with established standards and guidelines.
  • Analyze web content, structure, usage, and performance data to identify issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct content audits and recommend actions to improve content quality, relevance, accessibility, consistency, and user experience.
  • Work with internal clients and relevant technical teams to translate business requirements into appropriate web content and structural solutions.
  • Support the assessment and implementation of more complex web requests, including identifying content, functional, or structural implications and coordinating with relevant technical teams.
  • Provide advice to internal clients on web content standards, digital publishing requirements, and effective presentation of content.
  • Coordinate the publication and disclosure of required project and Board documents and other web content, as needed.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of web content standards, procedures, guidance, and tools.
  • Support the management of web publishing consultants, contractors, and service providers, including recruitment, onboarding, performance monitoring, and quality assurance.
  • Develop and maintain responsive web pages that optimize user experience across mobile, tablet, and desktop devices.
  • Perform other related tasks assigned by the Director, DCID and reflected in the workplan.
You will need
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Digital Communications, Information Systems Management, Computer Science or related fields.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in the field of digital communications; related experience in international agencies is preferred.
  • Experience in editing print and web-based publication.
  • A good understanding and hands-on experience in Search Engine Optimization and metadata management.
  • Proficiency in standard software programs and information technologies.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Able to liaise and work effectively with staff from different cultures and countries within and in other departments.
  • Data visualization and graphic design skills are an asset.
  • Experience with Drupal CMS, SharePoint, document or taxonomy management systems is an asset.

Additional Information

This appointment is open to internal and external applicants.

This is a fixed-term appointment for an initial fixed period of 3 years. At the end of the initial period, this appointment may, at the option of ADB, be extended once for up to 2 years, converted to a regular appointment, or ended on its expiration date. This decision will be made in the overall interest of ADB that: (a) it will require Staff's particular blend of skills and experience in the foreseeable future; and (b) Staff's performance is satisfactory and they are suitable for further employment.
