Job summary

Advanced Energy Industries, Inc. seeks a Commodity Manager, Infrastructure/Utilities to drive strategic sourcing across infrastructure, utilities and facilities services. You will lead supplier selection, contract negotiation, and cost-tracking while ensuring compliance with DOA and procurement processes.

Global scope includes AE manufacturing sites and service centers. Candidates need a bachelor’s degree and 7+ years in strategic procurement, with SAP and/or Ariba proficiency and a track record

Qualifications

Job Summary

The Commodity Manager, Infrastructure/Utilities is responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives that ensure the continuity, quality, and cost-effectiveness of indirect spend categories related to infrastructure and utilities. This role supports Advanced Energy’s global business operations by securing reliable supply solutions, meeting internal stakeholder requirements, and driving corporate cost objectives.

The Commodity Manager oversees supplier performance across quality, delivery, and cost metrics, while leading supplier selection, relationship management, performance improvement initiatives, and resolution of supply-related issues to ensure operational efficiency and business continuity.

Responsibilities

• Request for strategic sourcing and contract negotiation for Infrastructure, Utilities (or example: energy, gensets, liquid nitrogen, compressed air, etc) and Facilities Service but not limited to Janitorial and Facilities Services such as (but not limited to) Janitorial, Security, and other services.
• Develop and execute cost-tracking system for facilities operations to improve financial transparency and forecasting.
• Lead energy efficiency initiatives to lower utility cost as much as possible.
• Optimize the spending through cost saving initiatives, standardize facilities equipment brand and contract negotiations/ tendering.
• Identify and evaluate and manage global/ regional suppliers with Facilities stakeholders to ensure quality, compliance and performance. Facilitate annual or quarterly review and supplier scorecards, as required.
• Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes and market dynamics to inform sourcing decisions.
• Mitigate supply chain risk through proactive planning and contingency strategies.
• Partner with Finance, Legal and Facilities teams to align procurement goals with business objectives such as new factory setup or factory expansion.
• Support / responsible for global AE manufacturing factories, design and global service centers.
• Ensure compliance with established procurement processes, including the use of competitive bidding where required, proper documentation of decisions, adherence to Purchase Requisition (PR) and Purchase Order (PO) processes, compliance with Delegation of Authority (DOA) approvals, and sourcing only from approved vendor lists.
• Proactively identify and prevent any unethical or non-compliant behavior, abnormal requests, or attempts to bypass requirements, and stop and eliminate such actions immediately. Ethical conduct and compliance are mandatory.
• Accountable for policy adherence, expectation reinforcement, and cross‑functional partnership with Operations, Finance, Legal, and Quality to uphold required standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Facility Management or Construction Management and/or experience.
• With 7+ years of experience in strategic procurement or commodity management in Real Estate, Infrastructure and Utilities.
• Proven track record managing large scale spend with ability to develop Cost-Tracking system is preferred.
• Experience in supply chain management in an electronics manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of facility management, utility contracts, and infrastructure lifecycle cost management.
• Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining strategic supplier partnerships.
• Proactive problem‑solving skills with a strong focus on planning, organization, and execution.
• In‑depth understanding of purchasing processes and electronic manufacturing operations.
• Ability to respond quickly, confidently, and professionally to evolving business requirements.
• Proven capacity to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proficiency in SAP and/or Ariba procurement systems.
