Job summary

Advanced Energy in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, Philippines, seeks a Senior Buyer – Direct Commodity to secure goods and services ensuring uninterrupted indirect spend across regions. You will oversee RFQ/RFP, negotiate costs, and coordinate with operations, planning, and finance to optimize procurement and drive cost-effective solutions.

Responsibilities

• Source and develop new suppliers for direct materials used in testing boards or fixtures.
• Conduct RFQ/RFP, perform cost analyses and price negotiations.
• Transform requisitions into accurate Purchase Orders with pricing validation.
• Coordinate delivery confirmations and expedite with suppliers.
• Address urgent/emergency requests outside the planning cycle.
• Collaborate with AP, end users and suppliers to resolve invoicing variances.
• Manage returns or RMAs for faulty products.
• Assist onboarding of new suppliers and maintain supplier data.
• Update lead-times in the system where applicable.
• Work with Operations, Planning, Commodity Managers, Design Engineering and Finance to fulfill requirements.
• Evaluate supplier performance via KPIs and conduct business reviews.
• Ensure purchasing aligns with corporate policies and internal audits.
• Support global AE manufacturing factories, design, and service centers as needed.

Job Summary

The Senior Buyer – Direct Commodity is responsible for procurement of goods and services that ensure continuity of indirect spend supplies enabling Advanced Energy’s various business groups to operate efficiently, support internal requirements, corporate cost objectives, and enables cost effective solutions for indirect spending in local or global regions. Responsible for oversight on performance metrics related to Quality, Delivery, and Cost. This position will report to Manager, Purchasing.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactive new supplier sourcing and development for direct materials such PCB, heatsink, bobbin, magnetic cores, connectors, cable & wire which are used in testing boards or fixture or testing stations.


• Responsible for RFQ / RFP, cost analysis and price negotiation.


• Transform internal requisitions into formal Purchase Order by accuracy check requisition details and pricing validation.


• Delivery confirmation and expedition with suppliers.


• Support and handle urgent / emergency requests that fall outside of the normal planning cycle.


• Work with account payable team, end users and supplier to resolve supplier invoice or PO variances or discrepancies of delivered goods or services.


• Manage returns or RMAs for faulty products.


• Assist new supplier onboard process or maintain accurate supplier information in system.


• Update correct lead-time of goods in system (if applicable).


• Partner with internal stakeholders but not limited to Operations, planning, Commodity Managers, design engineering and Finance to understand their requirements and provide procurement expertise.


• Work with Commodity Management or Sourcing Teams to evaluate supplier performance through defined KPI and conduct regular business reviews to drive continuous improvement.


• Ensure all purchasing activities align with corporate policies and internal audit requirements.


• Support / responsible for global AE manufacturing factories, design and global service centers if necessary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Adminstration, Finance or related fields.


• Proactive problem solver with strong planning orientation.


• Capability to respond quickly, decisively, assertively and professionally to changing requirements.


• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.


• Proficient with SAP or Ariba or Oracle.


• Excellent PC skills including Excel, Word, MS Standard Office.


• Proven record of at least 5 years on managing a diverse portfolio of Indirect Categories at senior buyer position.


• Experience in supply chain management in an electronics manufacturing environment.


• Supporting Procure to Pay process including PO issuance and supplier shipment.


• Experience in a very high growth rate electronic business is preferred.


• Work location: Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
