Job summary

Advanced Energy Industries, Inc. is seeking a Senior Buyer – Indirect Commodity to procure goods and services across indirect categories, ensuring continuity of supplies for multiple business groups.

You will manage RFQs/RFPs, cost analyses, price negotiations, and PO issuance. The role reports to the Purchasing Manager and requires a Bachelor’s in a related field, 5+ years of indirect procurement experience in electronics manufacturing, and proficiency with SAP/Ariba/Oracle and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Proactively source and develop new suppliers to support capacity and revenue growth.
• Handle RFQ/RFP, cost analysis, and price negotiation.
• Transform requisitions into formal POs with accuracy and pricing validation.
• Monitor delivery and expediting with suppliers; resolve variances with AP.
• Support urgent requests outside the planning cycle and manage returns/RMAs.
• Onboard new suppliers and maintain accurate supplier information in the system.
• Update and verify correct lead times in the system.
• Collaborate with Operations, HR, Finance, IT, and EHS to meet requirements.
• Coordinate with Commodity Management and conduct reviews to drive improvements.
• Ensure purchasing complies with corporate policies and internal audits.
• Support AE manufacturing sites and global centers as needed.

Job Summary

The Senior Buyer – Indirect Commodity is responsible for procurement of goods and services that ensure continuity of indirect spend supplies enabling Advanced Energy’s various business groups to operate efficiently, support internal requirements, corporate cost objectives, and enables cost effective solutions for indirect spending in local or global regions. Responsible for oversight on performance metrics related to Quality, Delivery, and Cost.

This position will report to Manager, Purchasing.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactive new supplier sourcing and development to cope with company capacity & revenue growth.
• Responsible for RFQ / RFP, cost analysis and price negotiation.
• Transform internal requisitions into formal Purchase Order by accuracy check requisition details and pricing validation.
• Delivery confirmation and expedition with suppliers.
• Support and handle urgent / emergency requests that fall outside of the normal planning cycle.
• Work with account payable team, end users and supplier to resolve supplier invoice or PO variances or discrepancies of delivered goods or services.
• Manage returns or RMAs for faulty products.
• Assist new supplier onboard process or maintain accurate supplier information in system.
• Update correct lead-time of goods in system (if applicable).
• Partner with internal stakeholders but not limited to Operations, HR, Finance, IT, EHS) to understand their requirements and provide procurement expertise.
• Work with Commodity Management or Sourcing Teams to evaluate supplier performance through defined KPI and conduct regular business reviews to drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure all purchasing activities align with corporate policies and internal audit requirements.
• Support / responsible for global AE manufacturing factories, design and global service centers if necessary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Adminstration, Finance or related fields.
• Proactive problem solver with strong planning orientation.
• Capability to respond quickly, decisively, assertively and professionally to changing requirements.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficient with SAP or Ariba or Oracle.
• Excellent PC skills including Excel, Word, MS Standard Office.
• Proven record of at least 5 years on managing a diverse portfolio of Indirect Categories at senior buyer position.
• Experience in supply chain management in an electronics manufacturing environment.
• Supporting Procure to Pay process including PO issuance and supplier shipment.
• Experience in a very high growth rate electronic business is preferred.
• Willing to be assigned to a full-time, onsite position at either the Sta. Rosa, Laguna or Rosario, Cavite site.
