Deltek is seeking a Global Collections Specialist to manage the collection of outstanding accounts receivable from a worldwide customer base, aiming to reduce delinquency, resolve billing issues, and strengthen customer relationships while supporting Deltek’s commitment to operational excellence.

The role collaborates with project managers, sales, billing, and cash posting teams to address root causes of payment delays, design collection strategies, and prepare reports for executive management.

The Global Collections Specialist plays a key role in Deltek's Finance operations, managing the collection of outstanding accounts receivable from a worldwide customer base. This role focuses on reducing delinquency, resolving billing issues, and maintaining strong customer relationships — all while supporting Deltek's commitment to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct outbound collection calls in a professional manner, maintaining and strengthening customer relationships throughout the process
• Proactively contact clients prior to payment due dates to identify and resolve potential payment delays before invoices become past due
• Resolve client billing disputes and accounts receivable delinquency issues with a customer-first approach and a sense of urgency
• Review and monitor assigned accounts and applicable collection reports to track status and prioritize outreach
• Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, billing, and cash posting teams to address root causes of payment delays
• Partner with Collections management to design, implement, and continuously improve collection strategies, processes, and policies
• Send written correspondence (email and mail) to customers to encourage timely payment of delinquent accounts
• Identify, document, and elevate collection issues contributing to account delinquency to management with recommended solutions
• Support the preparation of reports and data summaries for executive management

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or a related finance role
• Demonstrated knowledge of international collection techniques, policies, and procedures
• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to resolve disputes while preserving customer relationships
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present information clearly to individuals and groups
• Proven ability to ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize a high-volume account portfolio

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with ERP or financial management systems (e.g., Deltek Costpoint or similar platforms)
• Familiarity with global billing practices and multi-currency invoicing
• Ability to coach peers and provide constructive feedback in a collaborative team environment
• Experience generating and presenting accounts receivable reports to leadership
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar data analysis tools

• Graduate degree preferred in Finance, Business, or Accounting.
• At least three years of global collections experience.
• Strong understanding of all accounts receivable processes, including billing and payment.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, written, and time management skills.
• Must have attention to detail with an eye for accuracy.
• Creative, self-disciplined, and capable of identifying and completing critical tasks independently and with a sense of urgency.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of Costpoint, Getpaid applications a plus.
• Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
