Job summary

WeConnect Technology Philippines Inc. seeks a Cloud Operations Engineer to support Alibaba Cloud products, monitor systems, and perform health checks, ensuring platform stability.

You will coordinate incident responses, manage changes and backups, and collaborate with development and product teams to optimize cloud operations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for cloud platform products, including usage consultation, configuration guidance, issue resolution, and daily maintenance.
• Monitor and inspect cloud platform systems to identify risks and ensure stability.
• Coordinate incident resolution and restore normal platform operations.
• Perform health checks of cloud resources and monitor capacity indicators.
• Manage monitoring alerts and follow incident and problem management procedures.
• Implement configuration changes, software updates, patches per change management rules.
• Perform regular backup checks and verify backup effectiveness.
• Prepare O&M service reports and communicate with stakeholders.
• Maintain O&M manuals and emergency response plans.
• Support go-live activities and cloud platform change plans.

Job description

• Provide technical support for cloud platform products, including usage consultation, configuration guidance, issue resolution, and daily maintenance.
• Monitor and inspect cloud platform systems to identify potential operational risks and ensure system stability.
• Troubleshoot and coordinate resources to quickly identify and resolve production incidents and restore normal platform operations.
• Perform regular cloud platform and resource health checks, including monitoring key capacity indicators and identifying potential risks in advance.
• Manage monitoring alerts by analyzing alert information, classifying issues, and following incident and problem management procedures.
• Implement cloud platform configuration changes, software updates, patches, and other approved changes in accordance with change management procedures.
• Perform regular backup checks and verify the effectiveness of backup tasks.
• Collect customer requirements and feedback based on project operations and provide appropriate follow-up.
• Maintain and regularly update O&M manuals, including incident, problem, fault-handling procedures, and emergency response plans.
• Prepare and provide regular O&M service reports covering platform operations, risks, and recommended optimization areas.
• Support cloud platform business testing and go-live activities.
• Cooperate with the customer in preparing and implementing cloud platform change plans.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Diploma, Bachelor's degree, or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Network Engineering, Information Security, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of cloud operations and maintenance experience.
• Experience in cloud platform operations and maintenance is preferred.
• Familiarity with enterprise-level IT operations and maintenance processes and standards.
• Must be able to pass an interview conducted by the Alibaba Cloud vendor O&M manager, or hold an applicable O&M L3 certification.
• Must be able to communicate proficiently in English.
• Must hold a valid work visa.

Technical Skills

• Experience operating and configuring Alibaba Cloud core products such as:
• ECS
• RDS
• SLB
• Redis
• OSS
• Knowledge of cloud resource monitoring, scaling, troubleshooting, and cost optimization.
• Strong knowledge of Linux systems, particularly CentOS/Ubuntu.
• Familiarity with Shell scripting.
• Experience with Docker container technology.
• Understanding of Kubernetes (K8s) architecture and principles, with the ability to perform cluster deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and resource scheduling optimization.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as:
• Prometheus
• Grafana
• Zabbix
• ELK
• Knowledge of cloud platform security configuration, including security groups, firewalls, and vulnerability scanning.
• Understanding of data backup and disaster recovery strategies.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, VLAN, OSPF, and related networking technologies.
• Familiarity with the daily maintenance of technologies/products such as Nginx and MySQL.

Preferred Qualifications

• Cloud vendor certifications are preferred, including:
• Alibaba Cloud ACP/ACE
• Kubernetes CKA/CKAD
• AWS SAA
• TCE
• Other recognized cloud platform certifications
• Experience in cloud development or O&M projects for well-known enterprises is preferred.
