Achen Henderson CPAs is hiring a Senior Accountant/Bookkeeper in the Philippines as an independent contractor for a remote role. You will manage full cycle bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients, act as primary contact, and ensure accurate, timely financials while coordinating with tax and payroll specialists.

The position requires a CPA designation, 5+ years post designation experience, 2+ years with a Canadian accounting firm, and strong English skills; night shift aligned with Canadian hours.

Qualifications

• CPA designation (Philippines or equivalent).
• 5+ years post designation experience in public practice or shared services.
• 2+ years working with a Canadian accounting firm.
• Fluent in written and spoken English, with strong client communication skills.
• Proven expertise in QuickBooks Online.
• Strong experience in account reconciliations, month end entries and reviews, and managing client portfolios.
• Proven ability to manage client relationships and set expectations.
• Tech savvy with advanced computer skills.
• Able to work night shift (aligned with Canadian hours).
• Self starter with strong attention to detail and multitasking ability.
• Comfortable working under an independent contractor arrangement.

Responsibilities

• Manage full cycle bookkeeping and accounting for a dedicated portfolio of 10 to 30 clients.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for your clients, leading client meetings and managing expectations.
• Perform account reconciliations and month end processes.
• Prepare accurate financial reports and support year end coordination.
• Convert client files between accounting systems as needed.
• Communicate directly with clients and respond to file specific accounting questions.
• Coordinate with tax, payroll, or other specialists when a client's needs go beyond bookkeeping.
• Identify file specific risks or issues early, resolving what you can and escalating when necessary.
• Improve internal and client processes and systems.
• Support automation and system efficiencies.
• Provide regular updates during team check ins.
• Contribute to a collaborative team culture.
