Job summary

COMMSEC INC. in Pasig, Philippines, is seeking a Civil/Structural Design Engineer to design and analyze civil structures for power plants, substations, and renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and energy storage facilities.

The role involves performing structural calculations, developing construction drawings, and designing foundations and steel structures to support high-voltage equipment, with collaboration with electrical and construction teams to meet codes and budget.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
Registered Civil Engineer or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
5–10 years of experience in civil and structural design.

Responsibilities

Foundation design for heavy equipment including transformers and wind turbines.
Steel and concrete design for substation structures and support buildings.
Develop site grading, drainage, and access roads for remote energy sites.
Review geotechnical data to determine foundation parameters.
Perform structural calculations for wind, seismic, and other loads using FEA software.
Prepare civil/structural drawings and reinforce details.
Ensure designs comply with international and local codes (ACI, AISC, ASCE, IBC).
Coordinate with electrical engineers to align weights and clearances.
Provide site support during construction and respond to RFIs.
