Strong knowledge of international and local codes (ACI, AISC, ASCE, IBC) and willingness to work at project sites
We are seeking a Civil/Structural Design Engineer to design and analyze civil structures for power plants, substations, and renewable energy projects (such as solar PV, wind, and battery storage systems). In this role, you will perform structural calculations, develop construction drawings, and design foundations and steel structures that support high-voltage equipment. You will collaborate closely with electrical engineering and construction teams to ensure projects are structurally sound, cost-effective, and code-compliant.
Foundation Design: Design shallow and deep foundations (mats, piles, drilled shafts) for heavy equipment like transformers, gantries, wind turbines, and inverter skids.
Steel & Concrete Design: Create detailed designs for substation steel structures (dead-end towers, equipment supports), control buildings, and retaining walls.
Civil Infrastructure: Develop site grading plans, drainage and stormwater management systems, erosion control plans, and access roads for remote energy sites.
Geotechnical Integration: Review soil reports and geotechnical data to determine appropriate parameters for structural foundations.
Calculations & Modeling: Perform structural calculations for wind, seismic, dead, and live loads using advanced finite element analysis (FEA) software.
Drawings & Specifications: Prepare and review civil/structural construction drawings, concrete reinforcement details, and technical material specifications.
Code Compliance: Ensure all designs strictly comply with international and local building codes (ACI, AISC, ASCE, IBC).
Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Coordinate with electrical engineers to establish equipment weight loads, clearances, and conduit entry layouts.
Site Support: Provide technical support during the construction phase, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and resolving field issues.
Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
Licensure: Registered Civil Engineer or Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
Years of Experience: 5 to 10 years of experience in civil and structural design.
Sector Expertise: Direct experience designing foundations and structures for substations, heavy industrial power plants, or utility-scale renewable energy installations (Solar PV track/fixed racking, BESS, Wind).
with strong experience in power plants, substations, renewable energy projects, and Philippine local design standards, permitting, and approval processes.
Willing to assign in any site location in the Philippines
