Description
Responsible for planning, designing, and supporting civil and structural works for utility-scale and commercial solar photovoltaic (PV) power plants. The role includes site grading, roads, drainage, foundations, and coordination with electrical and structural teams to ensure safe, cost-effective, and constructible solar farm layouts.
- Design site layouts for solar farms including module tables, access roads, and equipment foundations
- Perform site grading and earthwork design to optimize cut-and-fill balance
- Design stormwater drainage systems, culverts, and erosion control measures
- Design foundations for mounting structures, inverters, transformers, and substation
- Conduct quantity take-offs and support cost estimation
- Review geotechnical reports and topographic surveys
- Ensure designs comply with local regulations, environmental requirements, and industry standards
- Coordinate with electrical, structural, and environmental engineers
- Support permitting, approvals, and documentation
- Assist during construction, site inspections, and resolving field issues
- Review EPC contractor drawings and as-built documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- Licensed Civil Engineer (PRC preferred)
- Preferably a member of ASEP
- At least 5 years experience in solar power plant or substation projects
- With NGCP design experience
- Strong background in civil/structural design (site works, foundations, drainage, access roads.)
- Proficient in AutoCad, Civil 3D, STAAD Pro, or similar software
- Knowledge of local codes, regulations, and safety standards (NBCP, NSCP, ACI, ASTM)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skill
