Job summary

Konstruktion Inc. seeks a Lead Civil Design & Estimating Engineer to provide technical leadership in civil/structural design, quantity take-offs, and cost estimating. You will collaborate with design, estimating, and project management teams to ensure code-compliant outputs and accurate tender documentation.

The role involves coordinating with architects and engineers, developing designs with AutoCAD/STAAD, and mentoring junior staff while maintaining quality and timeliness across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in quantity surveying, construction estimating, cost control, or contract administration.
• Experience handling medium to large-scale construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, specifications, and construction measurement.
• Experience in preparing BOQs, detailed estimates, progress billings, variation orders, and final accounts.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial terms.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating/cost-control software.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, electrical, plumbing, mechanical drawings.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead, coordinate, and work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review civil/structural design computations, drawings, and technical details.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable standards, including NSCP, DPWH, ACI, ASTM, and relevant building codes.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and project teams on design and technical concerns.
• Provide practical engineering solutions and recommendations.
• Review and analyze project drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs, BOQ, and cost breakdowns based on design drawings and specifications.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed engineering designs using AutoCAD, STAAD, or other relevant design tools.
• Prepare technical drawings, shop drawings, and as-built drawings for submission and approval.
• Provide guidance and technical support to junior engineers and estimating personnel.
