Ropali Corporation in the Philippines seeks a Chief Finance Officer to lead the company’s financial planning, budgeting, liquidity management, and strategic financial initiatives. This role will standardize cost structures, oversee funding, and drive performance metrics across the finance function.
The CFO will design the finance organization, coordinate with business units, ensure compliance, and provide data-driven insights to support executive decisions and regulatory requirements.
The Chief Finance Officer shall be responsible for the attainment of the company’s objectives by doing the ff.:
1. Conceptualize and write down the concept of the internal financial environment that the Company must have to conduct its business in consonance with the Company’s general directions and objectives. This environment consists of principles, targets, rules, and metrics (Standards of Attainment) within which the Company shall operate. To this end, he/she shall :
a. Create an Operations Metrics Dashboard (OMD) that shows all the different principles, targets, rules and metrics and where the Company is or what its status is, and see to it that the required metrics are followed, such as target return on equity, profit margin, return on specific projects, etc., by ensuring real-time updating of the OMD and the reports that feed data into the OMD;
b. Oversee the annual and periodic budgeting process and monitor and evaluate regularly the Company’s performance against the budgets and the Company’s attainment of its major plans, programs and projects;
c. Ensure the adequacy of funds so that the Company can operate within safe liquidity levels and be able to fund its operations, capital expenditures and other activities;
d. Come up with standard cost structures and ratios and regularly monitor the Company’s attainment of the desired cost structures and ratios and observance of optimal relationships between cost and income by ensuring there are reports for such;
e. Pass upon and recommend for approval of the approving officers proposals prepared by project proponents for major undertaking such as new products, large investments and acquisition of assets.
2. Provide, with data from the Accounting Department, all the financial information that will enable the Company to navigate through the internal and external (regulatory) rules and metrics efficiently, and to be able to do this, coordinate and orchestrate the efforts of the various units within the Company, as well as those of the related companies, to some extent.
3. Raise funds from external sources to sustain the approved budget for operations, expenditures and investments.
4. Pass upon and recommend for approval of the approving officers proposals prepared by project proponents for major undertakings such as new products and business lines, large investments and acquisitions of assets.
5. Create and implement an organizational structure for the Finance Department that will be able to deliver items 1 through 4 above.
a. Design the organizational structure;
b. Complete the organization with competent personnel;
c. Supervise and direct all personnel under his/her organization to ensure that they carry out their duties and responsibilities aligned with the Department’s objectives.
