• A cashier is responsible for managing customer transactions in a retail or service environment. They are the point of contact for customers when purchasing goods or services and are responsible for handling cash, credit card transactions, and ensuring accurate pricing.
• Customer Service: Greet customers, answer questions, and provide assistance as needed.
• Processing Transactions: Scan items, calculate prices, and process payments accurately using cash registers, POS systems, or other equipment.
• Handling Payments: Accept cash, credit/debit card payments, and give change when necessary.
• Balancing Cash Drawer: Ensure cash drawer is balanced at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Maintaining Cleanliness: Keep the work area clean and organized, ensuring a positive customer experience.
• Handling Returns/Exchanges: Process returns or exchanges as per store policies.
• Stocking & Replenishing: Assist in restocking merchandise or keeping the store shelves organized.
