Job summary

MHI Investment Holdings Inc. in Manila is seeking a Cargo Accounting Assistant to support billing, accounts receivable, and airline accounting processes for cargo operations in the Philippines.

You will prepare invoices, verify charges, monitor receivables, post payments, and assist with airline reports while ensuring compliance with internal controls and tax requirements. A bachelor's degree in accounting and 1–3 years of related experience are preferred; proficiency in MS Office and ERP

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Accounting, Finance Management, or related field.
• 1–3 years of accounting/finance experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
• Basic understanding of Philippine tax and financial documentation requirements.
• Familiarity with cash handling, reconciliation, and remittances.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems is an advantage.
• CPA license is an advantage but not required.
• Certifications or training in accounting/taxation are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process invoices, debit notes, and credit notes for cargo transactions.
• Verify cargo charges, rates, surcharges, and fees based on tariffs and guidelines.
• Ensure accurate billing for freight, handling, storage, and related services.
• Review AWBs, manifests, delivery receipts before billing.
• Monitor outstanding cargo accounts and assist AR aging reporting.
• Post payments and reconcile with records from customers and partners.
• Coordinate with customers on billing discrepancies and inquiries.
• Prepare airline and GSA accounting reports as required.
• Maintain internal controls and assist audits and documentation.
