Our client is seeking a senior Business Development Manager to establish and grow its presence in the Philippine maritime market. The role will focus primarily on building relationships with manning agencies and introducing maritime software solutions to relevant decision-makers.
This is a market-entry role suited to a well-connected, credible business development professional who can work independently, communicate confidently, and develop opportunities from the ground up.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a business development plan for the Philippine market.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with manning agencies and other maritime stakeholders.
- Introduce and promote the company’s maritime software solutions to prospective clients.
- Identify, qualify, and progress new business opportunities from initial contact through commercial discussions.
- Conduct client meetings, presentations, demonstrations, and follow-up discussions.
- Provide market intelligence, competitor insights, and customer feedback to the Business Development Director.
- Coordinate with internal application, business process, development, and customer support teams.
- Travel within the Philippines as required, particularly during the initial years of market development.
- Maintain accurate pipeline updates, activity reports, and sales forecasts.
Qualifications:
- Approximately 10 years of business development, sales, commercial, or account management experience.
- Strong existing network and relationships with manning agencies in the Philippines. This is the main priority.
- Solid understanding of the maritime or crewing industry.
- Experience with software, SaaS, digital platforms, or technology-based solutions.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
- Confident presenting to and engaging senior decision-makers.
- Proven ability to develop a new market and build a client base.
- Self-driven, organised, and comfortable working remotely.
- Based in or able to operate effectively from Manila.
