Job description

The Building Maintenance Engineer under the Facilities Management Services is responsible for supporting the maintenance and upkeep of a facility's infrastructure, ensuring its safe, functional, and efficient operation.

This role involves a combination of technical expertise, hands‑on skills, and collaboration with a team of maintenance technicians, senior engineers, and stakeholders to maintain a comfortable and well‑maintained environment for clients and customers.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in performing routine maintenance tasks, inspections, and repairs on building systems and equipment, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other relevant systems.
• Provide technical support to maintenance technicians by troubleshooting and diagnosing issues, offering guidance on repair techniques, and ensuring effective solutions.
• Monitor the performance of building systems through data collection, analysis, and regular checks, identifying potential issues and addressing them promptly.
• Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards, maintaining compliance and contributing to a safe working environment.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections, including work orders, equipment history, and maintenance schedules.
• Collaborate with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers to procure materials, services, and equipment needed for maintenance work.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or a related field
• Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in building maintenance or facilities management, preferably in a commercial or retail setting
• Strong knowledge of building systems and equipment, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection
