Asticom Technology Inc is seeking a skilled Building Engineer to oversee HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety systems across a mall or commercial property in Olongapo. You will lead preventive and corrective maintenance, supervise contractors, monitor utility consumption, and support capital projects to ensure safe operations and occupancy comfort.

The role requires a Mechanical/Electrical/Civil engineering degree, PRC license, and 1+ years of hands-on building engineering experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering field
  • Must hold a valid Professional License (PRC) in relevant discipline
  • 1+ years hands-on experience in building engineering, facility maintenance, or property engineering — mall, commercial, or mixed-use experience preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, fire safety, and building automation systems
  • Familiarity with Philippine building codes, fire safety regulations, and environmental standards
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and specifications
  • Competent in basic computer applications for reporting, scheduling, and record-keeping
  • Practical, solution-oriented mindset — able to troubleshoot on-site and make sound technical decisions
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, and respond to after-hours emergencies as needed
  • Experience at Harbor Point or similar commercial/mall property is an advantage

Responsibilities

  • Systems Operation & Monitoring: Oversee daily operation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, lighting, and auxiliary systems; monitor performance, address abnormalities, and maintain stable building conditions
  • Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Plan and execute scheduled maintenance programs; inspect equipment, perform servicing, and respond promptly to breakdowns or emergencies to minimize disruption
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all installations, repairs, and operations conform to national building codes, safety regulations, and property standards; maintain permits, inspection records, and safety documentation
  • Contractor & Vendor Management: Supervise external technicians, contractors, and service providers; review work quality, ensure timely completion, and validate billing against agreed scope
  • Utility & Cost Management: Monitor water, electricity, fuel, and energy consumption; identify conservation opportunities, implement efficiency measures, and help control operational costs
  • Project & Capital Support: Assist in planning, tendering, and executing system upgrades, renovations, and improvement works; coordinate with design and operations teams to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain as-built drawings, equipment manuals, maintenance logs, and work orders; prepare regular status reports, budget forecasts, and asset condition assessments

ABOUT THE ROLE
